Detailed description


Cap: 5-10 cm across, first ovoid and young wraped in Volva, later torned and conic to convex, also flattened or bent, silky shiny surface, if dry satin shiny, if wet sticky and radially fibrillose, whitish, with no or only rare whitish scales, center is darker, margin is sharp and smooth.
Hymenophore: lamellae are first white, later yellow, free and broad.
Spore print: white
Spore: subglobose to broadly elliptic, smooth, 7,8-10,8 x 6,7-8,3 μm
Stem: 8-17 x 1-2 cm, cylindrical, base bulbous, young full, old hollow, elastic, whithish, with a hanged whitish membranous ring, upper ring surface is grooved, base is with a whitish, membranous sac-like Volva, this volva can be hidden by leaf litter.
Flesh: whitish, under the cup skin yellowish, middle is dick, against it thin, odor sweetish, old unplesant, taste mild and nutty.
Habitat: solitary or grouped in leaf (oak, beech, hornbeam), rarely in conifer woods, grows from summer to fall.
Edibility: deadly poisonous
