Pied: 6-12 x 1-2,5 cm, cylindrical, solid when young, later hollow, bulbous toward the base, base is gray colored, annulus pendant is white and striate.

Habitat: in coniferous forests, on neutral to acidic soils, by spruce, pine and fir, grows from summer to fall.
Remarques: can be confused with Amanita pantherina, which is poisonous, and doesnt have serrated ring.
