Cap: 5-15 cm across, hemispherical when young, later convex, smooth surface, covered with reddish-brown to ocher-brown veil, smooth, acute margin.
Hymenophore: lamellae are smooth, first white, later wine-reddish, free edges.

Spore: elliptic, 8,6-11 x 5-6,9 μm
Stem: 8-12 x 1-2,5 cm, cylindrical, tapered toward the apex, base bulbous, zoned, solid stipe, hollow when old, corticate, whitish surface to reddish-brown, striate to smooth, white above the annulus, upper surface striate.
Flesh: white, brownish to reddish under cuticle, thin, almost odorless, rarely bitter taste.
Habitat: in hardwood, and coniferous forests, grows from june till october.
Edibility: conditionally edible only if cooked
