Cap: 3-12 cm across, hemispherical to conic when young, later plane and turbinate, center umbonate, smooth surface, satiny, lubricious when moist, margin acute, cooper red, when young connected to the stem by an ocher, silky fibrillose veil.
Hymenophore: Lamellae are broad, olive ocherish when young, later gray black olive, smooth edges.
Spore print: dark brown
Spore: elliptic, 15,4-18 x 6,2-7,2 μm
Stem: 4-12 x 1-1,5 cm, cylindric, tapered toward the base, surface mottled to banded with fibrils, solid, yellowish toward the base.
Flesh: yellow, thick, odorless, mild taste.
Habitat: in coniferous forests in moss, grows from summer to fall.
