Habit of Growth: Saprotroph

Detailed description


Cap: 5-10 cm across, convex to expanded and plane, circular, often irregularly undulating, smooth surface, dull silky, white to pale brown, inrolled, even margin.
Hymenophore: lamellae are smooth, whitish, forked, notched or decurrent as a small tooth, sometimes decurrent, edges undulating to crenate.
Spore print: whitish
Spore: elliptic, 4-6 x (2,3)3-3,5 μm
Stem: 4-7 x 1-3 cm, cylindric, at times bulbous or tapered toward the base, longitudinally fibrillose, solid to stuffed, white.
Flesh: white, thick, odor and taste strongly farinaceous.
Habitat: in hardwood and coniferous forests, in parks, on grassy or herb-covered places, grows from spring to early summer.
Edibility: edible and very tasty
