Detailed description


Cap: 4-15 cm across, first convex, later flat and expanded, on a pale brown background with large, various shades dark brown scales, in the middle are scales more dark brown, margin is smooth.
Hymenophore: lamellae are first pale pink, later chocolate brown, thick, free.
Spore print: dark brown
Spore: elliptical, 5,5-6,5 x 3,5-4,5 μm
Stem: 6-12 x 0,8-2 cm, cylindrical, toward base slightly bulbous, with a white ring, surface is smooth and white, in age turning brown.
Flesh: white, if cut turning reddish, odor unpleasant, taste is mild to unpleasant.
Habitat: usually in groups in conifer and mixed forests, grows from august to october.
Edibility: edible
