Detailed description


Cap: 2,5-8 cm across, first conical convex, later flat, sometimes with a distinct umbo, surface smooth when young, then radially wrinkled, sometimes markedly venose-reticulate-alveolate, lubricous when moist, dull, silky when dry, light brown, veins dark brown, margin acute.
Hymenophore: lamellae are white, very broad, ventricose, notched and decurrent as a low ridge, some intervenose, edges white-floccose, sometimes also brownish.
Spore print: whitish
Spore: broadly elliptic, 12,2-16,2 x 9,4-11,3 μm, Q 1,26-1,52
Stem: 12-15 x 0,9-1,1 cm, very long, cylindrical with a clavate base, white and longitudinally grooved, increasingly gray-brownish and scurfy-floccose below, longitudinally fibrillose, fragile, tough, solid, sometimes twisted.
Flesh: white to watery, soft, thin, odor and taste not distinctive.
Habitat: on, or near rotten stumps in mixed hardwood forests, on the ground on buried wood, grows from summer to fall.
