Detailed description


Cap: 2,5-5(7)cm across, first convex, later plane and often undulating, smooth, fine radially fibrillose and sometimes slightly scurfy in center, first green blue, later gray ocher with a blue green cast, not hygrophanous, margin is acute, if young sometimes inrolled.
Hymenophore: first are lamellae creamy, later gray green, broad, broadly adnate to subdecurrent, edges are undulating to slightly crenate.
Spore print: cream
Spore: elliptic, 5,8-7,9 x 3,5-5 μm
Stem: 3-5(7) x 0,4-0,6(1)cm, cylindric, first whitish, smooth, later bluish green, longitudinally fibrillose, base is whitish tomentose, solid, flesh is whitish, corticate.
Flesh: whitish to pale greenish, thin, soft, odor strongly aniselike, taste mild and aniselike.
Habitat: solitary to gregarious in hardwood and coniferous forests, among leaf or needle litter, usually on chalk, grows from summer to fall.
Edibility: edible
Remarks: Clitocybe odora var.alba is whitish form of Clitocybe odora, which spots rose red if bruised.
