Cup: 2,5-4 cm across, young flatconvex, later flattened, dented in the center, old infundibuliform, sometimes with a little bump, smooth to slightly uneven surface, wet sticky, shiny, dry red to orange brown, marginal zone lighter to creamy or yellowish, margin long incurved, if wet little striate.
Imenio: first are lamellae creamy with reddish tint, later reddish ocher, broad notched, only few forked.
Polvere sporale: slightly yellow
Spore: elliptic, 6,6-8,8 x 5,3-6,8 μm, ornament, with few warts and ribs, which are almost completely net-like connected.
Gambo: 4-6 x 0,4-1 cm, cylindrical, hollow, smooth to slightly reticular surface, red to orange brown, on top little brighter.
Carne: light ocher, odor slightly herbaceous, taste mild.
Milk: white to watery white, after few hours slightly yellowish, mild.
Habitat: gregarious in bogs, at spruce, fir, pine, grows from summer to fall.
Note: similar with Lactarius badiosanguineus, which cup is only one colored, and without marginal zones.
