Cap: 6-10 cm across, first convex, soon flattened and irregularly bent and fluttery, fibrous to felty ingrown, in wet little greasy, pale straw yellow with brownish fibers, old dark yellow to brownish, cup skin is dominating over the tubes.
Hymenophore: mouths are green yellow, labyrintic, frayed, under pressure bluish and later brownish, tubes are green yellow and on stem decurrent.

Spore: broad elliptic, smooth, with drops, 4,9-6,5 x 3,5-4,7 μm
Stem: 3-7 x 0,8-1,5 cm, cylindric, little bent, apex is little spread, red brownish fibered on pale yellow ground, later red brown, fragile, full, flesh is pale yellow and weak bluish.
Flesh: whitish to pale yellow, spongy, thick, if cut bluish, over the tubes brownish, odor sour, taste mild to nutty.
Habitat: gregarious in wet conifer forests, at alder, grows from summer to fall.
