Cap: 8-15 (18) cm across, hemispherical later conic-convex to plane, sometimes with an obtuse umbo, first white surface, finely radially fibrillose to almost smooth, later splitting into fine appressed squamules, and strongly turning yellow to yellow ocher, margin incurved and acute.
Hymenophore: lamellae are free, smooth, edges white to pink color later black brown.
Spore print: purple brown
Spore: elliptic, 6,3-7,7 x 4,4-5,3 μm
Stem: 8-15 x 1-2 cm white or yellow, cylindrical, fragile, hollow when old, somewhat enlarged toward the base, sometimes two layered, white and yellow color, lower surface coarsely floccose, upper surface smooth, surface above annulus white and smooth, bellow it white, smooth and squamulose, yellowish if touched.
Flesh: white, under cuticle yellow, odor strongly anise like, taste nutty or almond like.
Habitat: gregarius grouped in meadows, pastures, at the edges of forrests, grows from june to october.
Edibility: edible
Remarks: similar is Agaricus silvicola with smaller spores and Agaricus xanthoderma which smells like karbol and is toxic.
