Detailed description


Cap: 8-20 cm across, first hemispherical, then convex cushion shaped, irregular wavy and slightly furrowed, tomentose, in age glabrous, when dry scaly feldery, first gray brown, later light brown with purple spots, old completely purple, eaten places are purple pink or ocher, margin is sharp.
Hymenophore: red, against the margin lighter, pores are yellow green, notched.
Spore print: olive brown
Spore: elliptic with drops, 12,3-14,6 x 4,6-6 μm
Stem: 5-11 x 2,5-5 cm, bulbous, then cylindrical to bulbous, whole length covered with red net, base is darker, apex is young yellowish with a yellow net, full, flesh is light yellow and little darker as cup flesh, against base purple red, if cut bluish, firm.
Flesh: light yellow, thick, if cut little bluish, soft to spongy, odor weak uncharacteristic, taste is mild to weak nutty.
Habitat: solitary to gregarious in hard and conifer wood forests under spruce, on calcareous soils, grows from summer to fall.
Edibility: inedible
