Detailed description


Cap: 5-20 cm across, first hemispherical, then convex to flat convex, smooth, yellow or pink, with red spots, sometimes also purple or brown.
Hymenophore: long tubes first lemon yellow, later olive green, attached to stem, with thick drops.
Spore print: olivebrown
Spore: fusiform to elliptic, 11-14,1(16) x 3-4(5) μm
Stem: 3-5 x 5-8 cm, sometimes swollen or tapering toward the base, yellow, covered with yellow net.
Flesh: pale yellow to lemon yellow, sometimes pale pink at the stem base and under the cuticle, solid, later soft, mild taste, pleasant odor.
Habitat: in warm forests with lot of sun, on calcareous soil, grows from late spring to fall.
Edibility: edible
Remarks: is similar with Boletus pseudoregius, only it has pink dull, with pink cap.
