Detailed description


Cap: 5-20 cm across, first hemispherical, later convex, surface is dry and velvety, light brownish to yellow brownish.
Hymenophore: pores are first yellow, then green with small subglobose reddish mouths, under pressure bluish.
Spore print: olive brown
Spore: spindle shaped, 10,5-14,7 x 4,3-5,7 μm
Stem: 7-15 x 3-5 cm, cylindric to belly shaped, yellowish, without net, covered with small reddish flakes, base is brownish.
Flesh: yellowish, if cut bluish, pleasant taste and odor.
Habitat: solitary or in groups in hardwood and coniferous forests, grows from summer to fall.
Edibility: conditionally edible only if cooked
