Detailed description


Cap: 6-15 cm across, hemispherical, later convex pulvinate, dull surface, wrinkled tuberculate, dark brown, paler toward the margin, covered with red thin cuticle.
Hymenophore: smooth, first white, later yellow to green, with little tubes notched at the stipe, with little round drops.
Spore print: olive
Spore: cylindric to elliptic, 15-20 X 4-5 μm
Stem: 6-12 x 5-8 cm, egg shaped when young, later clavate to ventricose, solid, pale brown surface, covered with net, upperside is white, lowerside red brownish.
Flesh: white, reddish under the cuticle, firm to spongy thick, odor not distinguished, mild taste.
Habitat: mainly restricted to pine forests, also in mixed forests, grows from late spring to fall.
