Detailed description


Cap: 5-10 cm across, first hemispherical, later convex to flattened and cushion-shaped, dry to tomentose, brown to copper red, old brown, margin is obtuse.
Hymenophore: pale yellow to lemon yellow, under pressure weakly bluish, pores are lemon yellow, bluish, on stem notched and some decurrent.
Spore print: olive brown
Spore: spindle elliptic with drops, 10,3-15,8 x 4,4-5,8 μm
Stem: 5-15 x 2-4 cm, bulbous to cylindric, base little tapered, apex is yellow with yellow net, under it is on yellow ground covered with brownish red net, against base without net, flesh is if cut pale yellow, bluish and little red brownish stained, full.
Flesh: whitish to light yellow, if cut bluish, thick, odor sauer, taste sweetish, nutty.
Habitat: solitary to gregarious in hardwood forests under oak and beech on calcareous soils, grows from summer to fall.
Edibility: inedible
