Detailed description

Stroma: 1-8 x 1-3 cm, to 1 cm thick, together and often one over another growing in round to elongated, pillow shaped thick crust, young brown to red brown, old black, wavy bumped, peritecia are with papilla like ostiole from stroma outstanding, endostroma is black
Spore print: brown
Spore: elliptic bean shaped, 8,5-10,5 x 4-5 μm
Habitat: mostly gregarious on dead corticate branches of birch, grows throught the whole year.
Edibility: inedible
